SLC’s Music Theatre – Performance Program Presents!

St. Lawrence College’s Music Theatre – Performance program invites the community to experience the energy of live theatrical performances at their upcoming productions of New Faces, NINE, and The SpongeBob Musical this April. 

The SpongeBob Musical, April 5-7, Brockville Arts Centre  

St. Lawrence College’s production of The SpongeBob Musical will be on stage at the Brockville Arts Centre for four performances April 5-7, 2024. Based on the beloved animated series, the musical features original songs by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Flaming Lips, Lady A, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, and Panic! At the Disco.  

When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their small home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save their undersea world. This exciting musical will make a splash with all audiences, young and old. Tickets are available from the Brockville Arts Centre box office

New Faces 2024, April 13, Brockville Arts Centre 

New Faces, St. Lawrence College’s annual production featuring first-year Music Theatre – Performance students, will be at the Brockville Arts Centre stage, with two in-person performances on Saturday, April 13 at 2pm and 7:30pm. This year, New Faces: Page to Stage will celebrate musicals that were inspired by literature. Tickets can be purchased from the Brockville Arts Centre box office   

NINE, April 12-14, Thousand Islands Playhouse
 

St. Lawrence College’s production of NINE will run April 12-14, at the Thousand Islands Playhouse’s Firehall Theatre in Gananoque.  

Based the book by Arthur Kopit with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, adapted from the Italian by Mario Fratti, based on Fellini’s 8 ½. NINE centers around the celebrated but impetuous film director Guido Contini, who suffers a midlife crisis due to the pressure of filming his latest film epic. One by one, women from his past and present - including his mother, his wife, his mistress, and his leading lady - haunt, instruct, scold, seduce, and encourage him until he finally learns to grow up.
