The tri-campus Student Rights & Responsibilities Office (SRRO) is here to help students navigate their academic and non-academic college experience. The SRRO can help you navigate college processes like how to make complaints, academic appeals, and report concerning behavior on campus. The SRRO uses an educational approach to assist students in understanding their rights and responsibilities which contributes to a positive student experience and maintains a safe and respectful environment that aligns with our college values:

Some of the areas the SRRO provides support are as follows:
Student Code of Conduct
- Receives reports of non-academic Student Code of Conduct concerns
- Investigates, interviews and collects information about reports
- Issues sanctions and facilitates follow up
Conduct in Online Learning Environments
With classes being delivered in alternate formats, we are relying on online and virtual communication more than ever. Your ability to communicate clearly and professionally online is important. Use the tips outlined in this Conduct in Online Learning Envrionments handout to make sure your online communication reflects you. Please remember that the St. Lawrence Student Code of Conduct applies to all your interactions with others - even online.
Academic Appeals
- May act as Appeal Advisor during Level 1 meetings
- Coordinator and neutral facilitator for Level 2 and 3 hearings
- Resource person for faculty and students throughout appeal process
- Students seeking accommodations for religious observances can do so by contacting Student Wellness and Accessibility. More information on this policy can be found on the Belonging, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion website.
Sexual Violence Prevention
- Support person for students who have reported sexual violence
- Connects students to campus and community resources
- Responsible for awareness campaigns and prevention initiatives
- Bystander training for students
- Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Violence handout
Behavioural Intervention Team
- A central point of contact for reporting concerning behaviour on campus
- Provides consultation and support to faculty, staff, administration, and students in assisting individuals who display concerning or disruptive behaviour.
