St. Lawrence College (SLC) has added two new members to its senior administrative team, Rick Anderson as Vice President, Student Affairs, and Theresa Steger as Dean, Program Planning, Development and Renewal.
Rick Anderson is no stranger to SLC, serving as both College Registrar and Director, Student Services. In his new role as Vice President, Student Affairs, Rick will continue to lead Student Services by providing leadership, innovation and strategic direction to Student Services, Student Wellness and Accessibility, Health Centres, Athletics & Student Engagement, Libraries, Financial Aid, and Student Rights & Responsibilities.
Rick’s 25 years plus experience in higher education includescounselling, teaching, andcourse development at both Six Nations Polytechnic and McMaster University. Rick also served as Registrar at Mohawk College, Director Student Services at Niagara College, and Director of Aboriginal Education and Development at Mohawk College.
Theresa Steger will join SLC in the new role of Dean, Program Planning, Development and Renewal beginning September 30, 2019.
Theresa comes to SLC with a wealth of experience the area of digital learning and is committed to showing how technology creates flexible and inclusive teaching practices. Her experience also includes program and curriculum development, as she was directly involved in the development and renewal of over 100 programs.
Theresa has been recognized for her leadership and creativity in the design of virtual reality learning experiences, the curation and integration of Open Educational Resources into the curriculum, and the development of industry related micro-credentials. Previous experience also includes program coordinator of a teacher pre-service program at Illinois State University, program coordinator of Humber’s Early Childhood Education Diploma Program and faculty member at Ryerson University.
