A student-run TEDx event will take place on St. Lawrence College’s Brockville campus on Friday, January 25. Organized by St. Lawrence College student Chad Izatt, TEDxSLCBrockville brings together several speakers from the Brockville and college community to deliver TED-style talks meant to inspire students.
The TEDxSLCBrockville event’s theme is ‘Beyond These Walls’, with speakers delivering talks focused on the skills, traits, and questions that students should be asking themselves after college to live a happy, successful life.
“I was originally inspired to organize the event because I saw how invested in school life students can become, to the exclusivity of the world around them. It’s important to focus on your education, and by coming to school students are taking big steps towards improving the quality of their life; however, it can take a lot more than education to find what you truly want in life. I wanted to organize a platform to give students an opportunity to look beyond school for a moment and take a step outside of their studies, to the world and their place within it,” says event organizer Chad Izatt, a second-year student in the Business program at SLC.
Ticket sales for the TEDxSLCBrockville event are limited to SLC students. Media are invited to attend at any time of the day.
