Job Title: THRIVE Student Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Department Manager, and under the guidance of the designate, the student incumbent works up to 30 hours per week (may include evenings and/or weekends) providing assistance in greeting and guiding customers and performing limited administrative related tasks to gain work experience while supporting the operations of the department. The successful incumbent demonstrates strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication (oral and written) skills, combined with an ability to work under pressure, and problem-solve while working independently.
The incumbent will assist with projects, marketing, and scheduling THRIVE events under the direction of the Facilitator, within the Academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning of activities and events related to the THRIVE Community. including THRIVE Huddles, Orientation, Clubs Day, Open House, etc.
- Assist with the production of promotional materials and resources for activities and events.
- Support marketing and promotion of student events, training sessions, huddle groups, and other engagement activities.
- Assist with data collection relating to attendance, participation, and student experience within THRIVE related activities.
- Assist with organizing, scheduling, and communicating THRIVE related activity and event information to students.
- Aid in managing events, booking venues, and ordering materials.
- Broaden social networking to benefit our THRIVE Community.
- Actively participate in staff committees as necessary and appropriate.
- May be asked to perform other college duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively work independently with instruction, and collaboratively with a team.
- Understanding of, and ability to demonstrate, the principles of confidentiality.
- Understanding of standard computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Teams, & Email).
- High degree of integrity for maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location.
Salary & Terms
- Start Rate: $17.20/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
- Hours per week: 30.00

Terms of Employment:
- Must be returning to Full-Time studies in the Fall 2025 semester.
- Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
