Indigenous St. Lawrence College Receives Large Donation of Equipment for Skilled Trades Programs
St. Lawrence College (SLC) received a donation of equipment valued at $150,000 to be used in several skilled trades programs to prepare students for careers in automated logistics and manufacturing. The donation was made by Witron, a worldwide leader in the design of warehouse and logistics systems.
St. Lawrence College Announces Nominees for Premier’s Awards for 2022
SLC is pleased to introduce this year’s nominees for Colleges Ontario’s annual Premier’s Awards. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to society from graduates of Ontario colleges. Winners will be announced, and awards will be presented at a gala held in Toronto on November 28, 2022.
St. Lawrence College Appoints New Board Chair
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Abram Benedict as the incoming Chair of its Board of Governors for a one-year term which will begin on September 1, 2022. Joining the SLC Board of Governors in 2017, Abram Benedict has served as Vice Chair since September 2020. He will take on the role of Board Chair on September 1 to lead the board during the 2022-2023 academic year, succeeding Roger Richard, whose term on the board concluded in August after six years of dedicated service.
St. Lawrence College to be Mask-Optional for fall, no Vaccine Requirement
SLC is welcoming a return to in-person classes and on-campus activities this fall. SLC’s campuses will be mask-optional, and while the college encourages people to be vaccinated at the recommended frequency, proof of COVID-19 vaccination will not be required for those coming on campus for orientation on September 6 and the first day of classes on September 7.
Safe Food Handler Training Offered at St. Lawrence College
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to offer the Safe Food Handler Training course in partnership with KFL&A Public Health in Kingston. In-person classes will be held at the Kingston campus of St. Lawrence College.
