St. Lawrence College to Host Condolence Ceremonies
As part of its ongoing commitment to honouring Indigenous Ways and reconciliation, St. Lawrence College (SLC) will hold condolence ceremonies on its three campuses in Kingston, Brockville, and Cornwall on the following dates: Cornwall, October 1; Brockville October 2; and Kingston on October 8, 2024.
Wiping the Tears: From the Shadows to Reconciliation Condolence Ceremony is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Haudenosaunee people, also known as the Iroquois Confederacy. This alliance of six Indigenous nations, spanning regions of Ontario, Quebec, and New York, follows the Great Law of Peace, established by the revered figures Hiawatha and the Peacemaker. SLC acknowledges and gives thanks that three of the college’s campuses are on the traditional lands of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe peoples.
St. Lawrence College Launches New Specialty Nursing Graduate Certificate Program
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is proud to announce the launch of its new Perianesthesia Nursing graduate certificate program, designed to provide Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) with critical care training to expand their practice in perianesthesia nursing. Delivered part-time and fully online through SLC+ Continuing Education, this program offers flexible learning opportunities for working healthcare professionals.
St. Lawrence College Graduates Nominated for Provincial Awards
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to introduce this year’s nominees for Colleges Ontario’s annual Premier’s Awards. The awards recognize outstanding contributions to society from graduates of Ontario colleges. Winners will be announced, and awards will be presented at a gala held in Toronto on November 25, 2024.
SLC Launches Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Program
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is proud to announce the launch of its Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanics apprenticeship program that officially opened its doors for in-class learning earlier this month. SLC will celebrate the program launch with a special event on Monday, August 19. In attendance will be apprenticeship students as well as local employers whose efforts have contributed to the introduction of this program.
SLC Awarded Silver Designation in Sustainability Performance
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Silver standing in the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System (STARS) by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). STARS is a comprehensive sustainability rating system for colleges and universities, addressing environmental, social, and economic dimensions of sustainability
