Kingston Nursing Research Conference Offers New Lunch and Learn Series
With its annual research conference on hiatus in 2024, organizers of the Kingston Nursing Research Conference are offering new learning opportunities instead. Starting in late February, nurse-scientists will be sharing their insights into research tools, methods and projects at three, one-hour Lunch and Learn sessions. These free events will be offered both in-person and virtually over the lunch hour.
Human Trafficking Awareness Day, 2024
Human Trafficking Awareness Day is observed this year on Thursday February 22 and the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office will be hosting programming on Human Trafficking, as well as providing resources to the campus community. Further details will be posted through the URSLC platform. 
Accounting Competition Prepares Students for Real-World Challenges
During the recent 15th annual SLC Accounting Case Competition, third year students from the Business Administration – Accounting program in Kingston tested their critical thinking skills. This event was sponsored by CPA Ontario. During the competition, participants were tasked with analyzing an accounting case study and to present their findings to a panel of judges comprised of accounting professionals.
Collaboration in Support of Campus Mental Health
St. Lawrence College hosted the Centre for Innovation on Campus Mental Health's (CICMH) annual Eastern Regional Forum at the College's Kingston Campus on January 31, 2024. Approximately 20 delegates from SLC, other post-secondary institutions, and community organizations from Eastern Ontario were present, including University of Ottawa, Trent Durham Student Association, Loyalist College, Collège la Cité, Pathways to Education, Durham Rape Crisis Centre, Ontario Shores Centre, and Canadian Mental Health Association, Haliburton.
SLC Launches Cybersecurity Program
SLC is pleased to launch a new part-time Cybersecurity program tailored for individuals seeking a flexible and accommodating way to acquire crucial skills in combatting cyber threats. This graduate certificate program provides a well-rounded mix of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in this growing field.
