SLC Game Programming Students Tour Snowed In Studios Inc.
The Game Programming graduating class and faculty recently visited Ottawa-based industry partner Snowed In Studios, a Keywords Studio. The College has had a relationship with Snowed In Studios for several years, with Studio Head Jean-Sylvain Sormany serving on the Program Advisory Committee. This past year, the studio volunteered mentors to meet with and guide students working on group projects.
SLC+ Launches New Fitness and Health Promotion Certifications
SLC+ has been working with Natasha Agaoglu, Fitness and Health Promotion faculty and program coordinator, to launch new Fitness and Health Promotion Certifications, a suite of practical, hands-on micro-credentials.
Accounting Hackathon Partnered with the A. Britton Smith Centre for Behavioural Studies and National Charity Rise
The graduating class of the Business Administration – Accounting program in Kingston recently held the 6th annual Accounting Hackathon in collaboration with SLC’s A. Britton Smith Centre for Behavioural Studies (CBS) and national charity, Rise. In this action learning event, student teams work with an entrepreneur to resolve a financial issue in their business. In preparation for the hackathon, CBS ran a workshop on rapport and relationship building which empowered the students to enter these client meetings with extra confidence. 
Learning Connections Conference 2023: Preparing for Registration
The LCC Planning Team wanted to share one last announcement before we open registration on April 17. We invite everyone to review the conference updates to learn more about the proposals, schedule, keynotes, and travel accommodations.
New “Ready to Launch” Student and Graduate Transitions Program Kicks Off
A new program named “Ready to Launch” has been developed to further enhance the experience of SLC student and graduate transitions. Open to all students while also including international-specific content, this two-part transitions series consists of (1) pre-graduation and, (2) post-graduation programming. Each event will include a range of topics to prepare our graduates for their next steps, including workplace readiness, immigration pathways by a local regulated immigration consultant (RCIC), housing transitions, Alumni Services as well as an interactive alumni panel.
