Silver Program Excellence Award Goes to St. Lawrence College
Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) has just announced their Awards of Excellence winners, and St. Lawrence College (SLC) has won a silver award for its Integrating Digital Micro-Credentials into Correction Canada’s Learning Management System program. The awards were given at CICan’s annual conference held in Montreal April 23-25, 2023.  
St. Lawrence College to Host Skills Competition in Cornwall 
St. Lawrence College (SLC) is pleased to be hosting the Eastern Ontario Skills Competition on Tuesday, April 25 in Cornwall. Students from the school boards will compete at SLC applying various skills in Automotive, Welding, Carpentry, Cabinet Making, Photography, TV/Video Production, Small Powered Equipment and more.  
Marianne van Silfhout Gallery Presents SPECTRUMS: 2023 Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition
The Visual and Creative Arts - Fine Arts Program and the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery present SPECTRUMS, a curated exhibition of the 2023 Fine Arts graduates. Emerging artists explore themes of identity, environmentalism, culture, and more through mediums such as oils, acrylics, mixed media, and collage. The exhibit runs until June 8, 2023, and is free to the public.
Community Electronic Waste Drive on SLC’s Kingston Campus
St. Lawrence College Project Management students and the Enactus team will be hosting an electronic waste drive on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Kingston campus parking lot. This annual event diverts used electronics from landfills and is held in collaboration with the Electronic Recycling Association who will assess the collected electronics and either recycles or repairs and re-distribute them to give new life to these otherwise discarded items.
St. Lawrence College Will Offer Personal Support Worker to Practical Nurse Upgrading Courses
Beginning April 1, 2023, SLC along with all of Ontario’s 24 colleges, will offer a new pathway for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who wish to qualify to practice in Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN). Upon successfully completing six pathway courses, PSWs will be eligible for advanced entry into SLC’s Practical Nursing (PN) Program.
