Share the Air, Be Scent Aware
Exposure to perfumes, colognes, and other scented products such as aftershave, deodorant, soap, shampoo, hairspray, body spray, air fresheners, fabric softeners, laundry detergents, etc. can trigger reactions in individuals with asthma, allergies, migraines, or chemical sensitivities.     Susceptible individuals can experience a variety of symptoms, including headache, sore throat, runny nose, sinus congestion, wheezing, shortness of breath, dizziness, anxiety, anger, nausea, fatigue, mental confusion, and an inability to concentrate. The impact on all those affected can be quite severe, resulting in great difficulty in work and study activities.
Health Care Administration Student Research Supports Local Senior's Group
Banshi Faldu, Temidayo Oluwasola Fayomi, Simran Ajani, and Lynda Chiamaka Ezeh are four graduating students in the Health Care Administration program who dedicated 28 weeks of their Capstone Research Project journey to investigating the growing trends in Social Prescribing in health care in Canada. Social prescribing bridges the gap between clinical and social care by referring patients to local, non-clinical services that are chosen according to the client’s interests, goals, and gifts. It allows doctors, nurse practitioners, and interprofessional health providers to formally refer patients through to community-based programs as an alternative approach to prescribing pharmaceutical medicine.
Pause, Reflect, and Remember on the National Day of Mourning
On any given workday in Canada, three people will die from a job-related fatality, life-altering injury, or occupational disease. On April 28th of each year we pause, reflect, and remember those workers who left home to go to their job and never returned home.  These individuals leave behind families, friends, and co-workers devastated by this tragic loss. The Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support, known as Threads of Life, is a Canadian registered charity dedicated to supporting families after a workplace fatality, life-altering injury, or occupational disease.
