As part of SLC’s Global Engagement Community Development Program, SLC recently piloted its first Community Welcome Event for new (and returning) international students on our Brockville campus. The event’s goal was to warmly welcome international students to SLC and the Brockville community. To further ease their transition, students met with helpful staff and community members while exploring the city, all it has to offer, and local employment opportunities. 

The Student Success Division would like to welcome new and returning students, faculty, and staff to the new 2022-2023 academic year and share helpful information and updates on current service offerings.

With the fall semester around the corner, Belonging, Human Resources & Organizational Development have begun posting many student employment opportunities on the SLC website. If you know any qualified students who may be interested in a student employment role, please consider sharing the job posting(s). More positions will continue to be posted in the coming weeks.

While people are coached to interact digitally as much as possible, there are still people who prefer the phone or that need to connect and speak with someone at SLC to get information or help. September can be a busy time with a high volume of callers, so the SLC Switchboard team offers the following tips, inspired by FAQs and conversations with callers to the College.

I hope you have enjoyed a rejuvenating summer so far. We are excited to be gearing up for the fall semester with Orientation for new students happening September 6 and our first day of classes on September 7. I am writing to provide you with details about the fall term.
